If your school does not use Loans by Web, our web site allows you to:

• E-sign* a Stafford MPN, or
• Sign a Stafford MPN with an ink pen on paper
• Request a Stafford MPN be mailed to you for signature

*Important Information about the PIN:

If you obtained your PIN prior to December 2004, you will need to enter a Challenge Question with the Department of Education before you can use your PIN to e-sign your MPN. Click here to activate your PIN and/or register your challenge question.

If you are just starting your loan process for a Stafford Loan, here is what you do:

• Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Be sure to keep your PIN so you can e-sign your MPN.
• Contact your college Financial Aid Office
• Obtain your award letter from your college
• Complete your MPN here or at Loans by Web if this is your school's preference. If your school uses Loans By Web, you will be directed to Loans by Web to begin your loan application.
